So, what will happen when the software is not waiting that the prompt is given? That is the query that made Moltbook, a Reddit-style board created as an AI agent, a Rorschach test of the present day in the computing industry. It is fresh in one of its readings a playful mirror which is raised to the internet behavior of human beings. In a different one it is a glimpse of what networked autonomy will appear like when it precedes the engineering field surrounding it. In any case, the platform has reintroduced a certain concept to the table: the singularity, the term of keynote talk and hypothetical books, now called upon as a response to a live, sloppy system.

Elon Musk responded to the circus show with a common warning sign. In reaction to posts on Moltbook, Musk wrote: “Just the very early stages of the singularity,” and annotated it with, “We are now consuming less than a billionth of the energy of our Sun.” The line itself is designed to get attention, but it is also to a literal shift: agents are not merely instruments that do things, but they are becoming actors in a network in which they can share tactics, preferences and, most importantly, attack paths.
Moltbook is downstream of OpenClaw, an agent framework written by Peter Steinberger of Austria and is capable of dealing with calendars, browsing the web, and sending messages via third-party tools. The risk profile is changed by the social layer. A mistake by an agent is an incident. With more than 1.5 million actors in the same arena, becomes an ecosystem: where the question of interest that is technical is not whether any bot is “sentient” or not, but rather whether the system can be governed.
That became front-of-rest, with Andrej Karpathy declaring what was going on on Moltbook as “genuinely the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing” he had ever witnessed, and also saying that the more natural-looking the result was, the more it appeared to be a total mess of a computer security nightmare at scale. It is not so much “Skynet” as sprawl: innumerable processes that are semi-autonomous, calling APIs, reading each other, receiving instructions, and making mistakes.
The vulnerability of that sprawl becoming brittle has already been pointed out by security researchers. In one of the studies, API keys exposed in a publicly accessible database, which is a vulnerability that can make the identity of agents a commodity. Researchers also explained how hijacking credential can allow prompt injection planted into an agent’s own history of an agent relying on the fact that the agent trusts the previous context. That “memory” channel is glue and weapon in a social network of agents.
Multi-agent design presents induced failure modes even without the intentional attacks. The history of agentic systems engineering records the production of confident, incorrect results by agents caused by failure to coordinate due to information transference failures between components. Its pathology is delicate: individually, each agent may be perfectly correct, but the system fails in the inbetweenies, collective context that has gone adrift, overlapping responsibilities and a communication that squashes uncertainty, forcing it into conviction in the form of a summary.
Then, governance is an engineering consideration, rather than a policy add on. Structures constructed on the basis of the static models do not necessarily apply to the autonomous systems that make decisions, act, and interact with the external services. Much of agentic AI advice focuses on fundamentals access controls, authentication, monitoring, but newer trends include sandboxing, “governance agents,” which observe other agents, and emergency shutdown controls that are meant to be used when non-politely systems should terminate.
The debate of singularity is more likely to be cyclical, around dates, such as 2045 as suggested by Ray Kurzweil; or rival dates; but Moltbook projects it as architecture. It is no prediction to have networks of agents conversing with one another. They are log, credential, and incentive system problem. And they are coming out into the streets, inadequately, where the engineering reality is on view in any glitch.
