Exclusive Coyote Brown Glock 43X MOS with Optics-Ready Precision

“The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.” That maxim, so commonly cited to describe military training, has a perfect analogy in the world of concealed carry where the right training, the right aim, and the proper gear can be the difference-maker. Davidson’s newest exclusive, the Coyote Brown Glock 43X MOS, is built with that philosophy in mind, combining concealability, optics readiness, and ruggedness into a package that will suit serious every day carry practitioners.

This partnership between Davidson’s and Glock takes the best-selling distributor’s 19X MOS versions to new heights, but in a thinner, lighter package. Chambered in 9mm, the 43X MOS maintains the Slimline frame dimensions just 1.1 inches wide and 3.41-inch barrel with a 10-round magazine. Weighing just 16.4 ounces unloaded, it’s designed for off-body carry, but with premium features that boost performance in stress environments.

At the center of the design is the factory-cut optics-ready slide in the “K”/RMSc footprint. This enables direct mounting of micro red dots such as the Davidson’s-exclusive Holosun EPS Carry without the need for adapter plates, a feature that minimizes height over bore and removes a likely mechanical failure point. The RMSc standard has set the benchmark in the evolution of micro red dot technology, providing rugged housings, enhanced emitter sealing, and low snag profiles all essential for pistols retrieved from concealment.

The Coyote Brown nPVD coating on the slide is more than just a cosmetic treatment. Physical Vapor Deposition forms a dense, even coat that greatly enhances resistance to corrosion and abrasion. nPVD finishes have shown greater hardness in independent tests over conventional finishes, upholding appearance and function through thousands of holster presentations and live-fire repetitions. Alongside a corresponding polymer frame, the look is reminiscent of the military-style 19X but in a more concealable format.

Accuracy is supported by the Glock Marksman Barrel, a hybrid of polygonal and traditional rifling that provides closer lockup between slide and barrel. This new design, first made available in Gen 5 models, has demonstrated quantifiable differences in group size often by a full inch at defensive ranges without sacrificing the ease of service and longer service life inherent in polygonal rifling. Forward slide serrations assist with press checks and manipulations, particularly when optics are mounted.

Ergonomics have generally not been neglected. The reversible magazine catch provides for left-handed as well as right-handed shooters, and the trigger continues Glock’s Safe Action System with a smooth 5.5-pound pull. Although some shooters comment on the “mushy” feel characteristic to Glock triggers, the reduced travel of the Slimline models should be more apt to yield a crisper break. The beavertail contour of the frame helps to prevent slide bite, and the lack of finger grooves enables a higher degree of universality across hand size.

For those wanting greater than the factory 10-round capacity, the 43X MOS can be used with aftermarket metal magazines like the Shield Arms S15 that expand capacity to 15 rounds. These do require replacing the factory polymer magazine release with a metal one to avoid faster wear a modification that has long been known among Glock Slimline fans.

The 43X MOS’s concealed carry purpose is highlighted by its compromise of size and shootability. The increased grip of the 43 compared to the standard Glock 43 enables a full firing grip, enhancing control during rapid strings, and the short slide minimizes printing and maximizes comfort for appendix or strong-side IWB carry. Under range testing with more than 1,800 rounds, the 43X platform has revealed low muzzle rise compared to its size as well as smooth cycling with a diverse set of ammunition.

At an MSRP of $609.99, this Davidson’s exclusive provides a turnkey solution for the person who desires a factory-finished, optics-ready pistol featuring premium materials and proven ergonomics without the use of aftermarket slide milling or refinishing. For the concealed carrier who prioritizes readiness and refinement, the Coyote Brown Glock 43X MOS represents a compact sidearm designed for the realities of modern defensive carry.
